Ulrik Hartmann

It’s more than a decade since Hartmann’s began dealing with pink diamonds from the Argyle Diamond Mine. We began for the most obvious reasons: We were truly impressed by the Australian diamonds’ incredible ability to reflect light and by their deep, intense play of colours. At the same time we were captivated by the likelihood that the mine will only produce pink diamonds for a limited time.

During this time we have acquired unique expertise and a deep insight in coloured diamonds. This is a highly specialized area that necessitates close relationships, very particular connections – and numerous trips to Antwerp, Genéve and New York, as well as many long journeys to Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

It was a milestone when in 2008, we were nominated as an “Argyle Pink Diamonds Select Atelier”. We celebrated the occasion with a special exhibition of Argyle pink diamonds never seen before in Scandinavia. At the same time we published a book to share our enthusiasm for these extremely rare and uniquely beautiful diamonds with other diamond lovers.

Today pink diamonds attract more attention than ever. We are therefore extremely pleased – and in fact very proud – that we can present “Hartmann’s Argyle Pink Diamond Collection”.

We sincerely hope this exclusive collection of unique pieces of jewellery will find their way to owners with the same enthusiastic attitude to diamonds and jewellery we have; People who know that pink diamonds are more than rare stones. They are also precious declarations of love.

When you look into the dazzling facets of a pink diamond, you become spellbound. It is hard to look away. It tells a unique story of profound transformation, of enormous energy and of endless time.

A pink diamond contains a never-ending stream of light from the past but also a glimpse into the future.

Hartmann’s participates in exhibition at Kensington Palace

Kensington Palace, London, hosted Tuesday 9th 2012 an exclusive exhibition “Pink Diamonds and Royalty” as part of the marking of the 60st anniversary of Queen Elizabeth. The exhibit was arranged by Rio Tinto who is the worlds’ largest mining company, and only a few jewelers from around the World were invited to display their pink jewelry. One of them was Danish Ulrik Hartmann.

The requirements to the exhibitors were strict. For as with diamonds – only the top quality is suitable for queens. The exhibitors must be an “Argyle Select Atelier” – a title that Hartmann’s has as one out of three in Europe – and display pink diamond jewelry where each piece are valued more than 3 million DKK.

Hartmann’s hosted a PINK-night at Moltke’s Palace on Thursday 2nd of May 2013.

General Manager from the Argyle Mine, Josephine Johnson, and Ulrik Hartmann lectured about the World’s largest diamond mine that produces the rare pink diamonds. View the video cut-down from the night.

Visiting the Argyle-mine

In May 2017 a big dream came true when Ulrik Hartmann as the first Dane ever visited the Argyle Mine and by self-perception saw the mining process and was mesmerized by the beauty of nature in East Kimberly, Australia.
